Library instruction requests are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. Two weeks’ notice is preferred. Please wait for confirmation before announcing this session to your class.
Things to consider when scheduling a class: Library research skills instruction is most effective when it pertains to a specific assignment, and takes place once students have selected a topic and completed some initial searching. This helps students understand the purpose and value of the library instruction, and gives them the opportunity to immediately apply what they learn to their research process. Faculty/Instructors are encouraged to attend the class. Your presence motivates students to engage in the learning experience, and you can provide clarification and direction.
Note: the length of time available for instruction will have an impact on the number of
learning objectives that can be achieved.
Provide more detail to help the librarian prepare for this class, eg: accommodation requirements,
students' skill level or prior knowledge; particular stumbling blocks your students have
